Conclusions:

  • American Strat 10-32 original Fender tremolo arms threaded portion are manufactured at the smallest diameter accepted according to industry standard specifications.  By doing so causes most original factory Fender tremolo arms to fit loose in the tremolo block, you end up with a floppy tremolo arm when it is screwed in all the way and then backed up the minimum amount to position it in the playing position.

  • Mexican Strat original Fender tremolo arms have been found to be manufactured below smallest allowable diameter according to industry standard specification by as much as 0.0025" which is 2-1/2" thousandths of an inch.  This may not seem like much, but keep in mind that this figure is below the minimum allowable diameter by industry standards and it does not take but a couple thousandths of an inch to make the difference in how well or poorly a tremolo arm fits in your tremolo block, and when it is already 2-1/2 thousandths undersize that means that it is far too small in diameter to fit correctly without excess play.

  • Squier by Fender 5mm original tremolo arms are found to be within the threaded diameter range accepted by industry standards, but are on the bottom end and may still subject tremolo arms to loose fit in the tremolo block.

  • Squier by Fender 6mm original tremolo arms are found to be within the threaded diameter range accepted by industry standards and are large enough to fit correctly within the tremolo block.

  • You'll notice the difference in the threaded diameter of the tremolo arms we manufacture.  We manufacture ours to have a threaded diameter that is toward the maximum
