OverDrive Custom Guitar Works was started in March 2009 based on an overwhelming support of a Gilmour style Black Strat Project that was published in January 2009 on the Military Gear HQ web site.  I received numerous suggestions and requests to produce some of the custom parts involved in the Black Strat Project with everyone stating that there would be a genuine interest to purchase these items among fellow custom Strat builders.  I was reluctant at first but went ahead after some insistent nudging from prospective customers and started things off in producing the recessed mini-toggle switch mounting bracket which allows you to mount a mini-toggle switch on the under side of the Strat pickguard and have only a small portion of the toggle lever protrude through a small slot in the pickguard which is the same as on Gilmour's Black Strat.  From there I started custom routing the all black 1 ply pickguard's to accept the recessed mini-toggle switch mounting brackets and shortly there after began custom manufacturing the Gilmour style shortened Strat tremolo arms out of precision ground 303 stainless steel. These shortened tremolo arms are 4¼" in length which is the same as on Gilmour's Black Strat.  They differ from the factory Fender Strat tremolo arm length of 6".

I have since expanded my product offerings to building complete and fully loaded Black Strat pickguard assemblies all ready to drop into your favorite Strat body.  Every component of these assemblies is hand selected for the highest quality and authenticity to the original components in Gilmour's Black Strat.  Recently I have employed a specialized shop that is custom manufacturing the all black 1 ply 0.120" thick acrylic Strat pickguard that already has the recessed mini-toggle switch slot ready to accept our mounting bracket, these acrylic pickguard's complement our complete pickguard assemblies wonderfully with their authenticity to the original. I also offer complete fully loaded pickguard assemblies with any of the various Fender Custom Shop or Noiseless pickup sets with your choice of pickguard's and accessory colors for your custom Strat build project.
