Seymour Duncan's unique design balanced and
calibrated true single
pickup set. This unique SSL-52 (Five-Two)
pickup set uses Alnico 2 magnets on the high
string pole pieces (E1, B & G) and uses Alnico 5
magnets on the low string pole pieces (A, D &
E6). The result is a very balanced pickup
with a bright and springy bottom end, and a
smooth and rich top end. The Five-Two answers
Strat® players' complaints that their low strings
sound too mushy while their high strings are too
bright.
The
SSL-52's are extremely balanced true single-coil
pickups. Recommended for country, pop, blues,
classic rock and heavy rock. Alnico 2 magnets
provide warmth and softer attack on the three
high strings. Alnico 5 magnets provide punch and
brightness on the low strings. It's like having
two separate presence controls: one optimized
for the high strings and one for the low
strings.
This
calibrated set includes a higher-output custom
bridge pickup, RW/RP middle and regular neck
pickup. The hotter custom bridge pickup creates
better output balance. The reverse wound,
reverse polarity (RW/RP) middle pickup gives you
hum-canceling in positions "2" and "4" on the
five-way switch.
