Fender® Custom Shop Fat '50s Pickup Set

We custom build each of these complete Strat® pickguard assemblies in our shop by hand for every customer based on the unique specifications selected below.

Includes everything ready to drop in to your favorite Strat® by simply hooking up the hot wire (audio) and ground wires.  Includes genuine Fender® Custom Shop Fat '50s pickup set, genuine Fender® pickguard, knobs, switch tip along with top quality CTS potentiometers, Orange Drop polyester film tone capacitors and a CRL pickup selector switch. 

The standard 11 hole pickguards are fully shielded as they come from Fender, click for illustration.

The '56/'59, '57, '62 and '65 vintage pickguards require a separate aluminum pickguard shield which is to be added extra if so desired. Use separate "Add to Cart" buttons found below for addition of these pickguard shields.

We offer a few assembly selection options for your pickguard to appeal to your particular Strat® body color.

Pickguard Assembly Specifications / Options

Do you want the sound of a '50s Strat, but with a little bit more attitude? These calibrated Fender® Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups are constructed with hand beveled, staggered, Alnico 5 magnets and Formvar wire on the coils. The Fat '50s deliver enhanced bass response without the harsh mid-range. The middle pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity for hum canceling in positions 2 & 4. The blues never sounded so sweet.

Important Note: If you are selecting your pickguard assembly to be built with one of the '56/'59, '57, '62 or '65 vintage pickguards they are unshielded as provided by Fender. To have the genuine Fender® full coverage aluminum pickguard shielding plate or '57 control area aluminum shielding plate installed please add it separately below using the appropriate "Add to Cart" button.  These separate aluminum shielding plates are specific and authentic to how Fender was shielding their pickguard assemblies during the '50s and early to mid 60's.  The '57 pickguard typically will have the control area aluminum shielding plate installed, the '62 and '65 pickguard typically will have the full coverage aluminum shielding plate installed.
