DPDT Push-Push Button Switch Kit

This DPDT push-push button switch kit is the same style as installed in the Fender Deluxe Player, Jeff Beck, American Elite Strat® and various other models that use this push button switching method, but this kit has a shorter switch mount block and slightly different switch cap.  It is NOT the same as our original #225800-KIT, the switch mounting block is shorter to accommodate the different switch cap, since Fender no longer sells the original switch caps we are now using the original switch caps that are made by the switch manufacturer and requires a slightly larger hole in the pickguard, only about 0.01" larger.

This switch kit we offer consists of all parts depicted on the right.  Your pickguard will require a 9mm hole drilled in the correct location to accept the switch cap. The plastic switch caps are available in Off White and Black, your choice. Wiring diagram and/or additional installation instructions other that what is described below are not available for this kit, you need to know what you are doing in order to correctly install and wire this kit in your guitar.

This switch mounting block is attached to the back side of the pickguard with a strong glue such as Devcon 22045. In the location where you are gluing the switch mounting block you will remove a small portion of the pickguard shielding, score the pickguard surface and scuff the mating surface of the switch mounting block for best adhesion. A 9mm diameter hole in your pickguard is required for the switch mounting block  to allow the switch cap to protrude through. A step bit is the best choice for drilling the hole in the pickguard and the 9mm is one of the multiple  hole drilling diameters on the 4-12mm step bit. The step bit is best for smooth drilling in the vinyl pickguards where as a single size drill bit is not recommended for it has a higher chance of damaging the pickguard.
