The slightly longer threaded bushing on this potentiometer is perfect for pickguards 0.090" and thicker.  The standard Fender 1/4" long threaded bushing potentiometers are just not long enough to accomodate the locking star washer and flat dress washer on pickguards 0.090" and thicker and still have the fastening nut grab at least 2 threads.

Perfect for your Gilmour style Black Strat 0.120" thick black Acrylic pickguards.
